Our Space Is Spoken For is a public art storytelling project where community members and artists of color will come together to reclaim space. Through performances in public spaces across St. Paul, Our Space will rewrite narratives of how historically marginalized communities navigate, define and negotiate the spaces in which we work, live and play.

We need volunteers in various capacities throughout the Our Space project (May-August 2018). Current volunteer opportunities are listed below. Please check back for new volunteer listings. Individuals and groups are welcomed.

We are seeking volunteers to greet community members looking to tell their stories, steward the space as the Storymobile runs their mobile recording studio and hand out marketing materials. Saint Paul residents and multilingual folks especially are encouraged to volunteer.

Volunteer shifts are no more than three hours and have a flexible amount of sitting/standing. Current openings:

May 18, 11:30a-2p
Golden Thyme Coffee & Cafe
921 Selby Ave, St Paul, MN

May 26, 10a-12:30p
Frogtown Farm and Park (Seedling Distribution event)
946 Minnehaha Ave W, St Paul, MN

Do you want to get involved with Our Space offstage? We are seeking energetic performance crew members to help with set-up, surveys and general onsite event assistance during performances in July and August in outdoor spaces across Saint Paul.

Shifts will vary based on artist needs and may involve some standing/lifting. Please let us know your capacity and general availability, and we’ll make sure to find a shift that’s right for you.
